Advising for students interested in the pre-chripractic program is done by Dr. Erich Ottem, Biology Department, 906-227-1072; email: eottem@nmu.edu.
Northern Michigan University offers a pre-chiropractic program that follows the criteria established for admission to colleges of chiropractic whose programs are in compliance with the standards, rules and guidelines of the Council on Chiropractic Education. Normally, students must have completed at least 90 semester hours, with a cumulative grade point average of 2.50. Courses should be selected with the help of the pre-chiropractic adviser located in the Chemistry Department.
Pre-chiropractic students will not be taking all the courses listed.

Individual state licensing boards may require additional education prior to entering a chiropractic college. Since entry requirements vary by state as well as by college, it is imperative that students interested in the pre-chiropractic program interact with the pre-chiropractic adviser early in their education and continue to do so throughout their academic career at NMU.
