This course provides information regarding the classifications and procedures for sanitation for the client and student. It also incorporates components about the state laws regarding sanitation and salon/spa management. Students will learn skills to reduce pathogens such as ultraviolet sanitizers, antiseptics, soaps, and detergents. Students will also learn which laws determine the scope of practice for each type of license and that there are statues that govern how they function as a business and deliver services. Additionally, students will demonstrate business management skills such as managing finances, inventory control, establishing services provided based on value, working with employees, and developing positive customer relations.
