Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
Commercial Driver's License (CDL) positions remain in high demand and often pay higher wages and benefits. Data shows demand for this occupation will rise over the next 10 years.
NMU's Truck Driving School is proud to offer CDL A, B, and School Bus Driver Training to our community. These courses take place in the conveniently located classroom and lab at the Jacobetti Complex on NMU's campus, providing students with easy access to the necessary facilities. With a focus on industry-specific training, all driving practice is conducted using NMU's state-of-the-art semi-trucks. To ensure personalized attention and effective instruction, class sizes are limited to just eight students per session. The course is taught by a Certified Truck Driver Education Provider, ensuring that students receive high-quality instruction and guidance. Upon completion of the program, students will be fully prepared to test for their CDL, with the entire course typically lasting around four to five weeks.
