Originally from Negaunee, and a proud tribal citizen of Gnoozhikaaning - Bay Mills MI, and Wiikwemkoong First Nations of Manitoulin Island, Ontario, Leora is the Interim Director of the Student Equity and Engagement Center and assisting with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. She graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor’s in Art and Design.
Currently, Leora is a Masters of Education candidate in Education Administration: Native American Education Administration and Supervision. She also teaches Indigenous Studies with the Center for Native American Studies, with a concentration in Anishinaabe language, and serves as President on the Board of Directors with the Native Justice Coalition. In her free time she can be found with her two sons.
