Orange Shirt Day Remembrance Walk
Join us this upcoming Friday (9/30) for a Remembrance Walk in honor of Orange Shirt Day! The Remembrance Walk has been organized by the Native American Student Association to honor all those affected by the Indian Boarding/Residential School System in the United States and Canada. The walk will begin at approximately 12:30pm EST at the fire site located in the Whitman woods, which is adjacent to Whitman Hall where the Center for Native American Studies is located. From the fire site, we will begin our walk to Lake Superior where we will offer our thoughts, words, and asemaa to the spirits. We are asking that attendees wear orange and comfortable shoes! Please call the Center for Native American Studies at 906-227-1391 for additional questions or information!
