What were your favorite moments as an undergrad at NMU?

One of my favorite moments as an undergrad was meeting my best friends through my classes. It is crazy to think that a random girl I met in my Spanish class freshman year became my very best friend, my roommate, and then my travel buddy!

What were your favorite moments as an LLIS student?

As an LLIS program student, I enjoyed having class with students who shared the same passions as I do. My classmates also taught me about jobs and programs that I had not heard of, which encouraged me to branch out and look into more options. The staff and professors were also the most encouraging mentors I have ever had, and they truly have a passion for teaching and their students.

What was your favorite course that you took in the LLIS Dept?

I truly enjoyed Profe Joy's SN 325 class, Noticias en Español! This class was enjoyable because it gave us control over what we were learning about, and it gave us a platform to talk about news that was important and relevant to us. Additionally, the class was one giant discussion, which was a great way to practice language proficiency and help us gain confidence when speaking our second language. We were always encouraged to speak and share but never forced, and Joy made the environment so welcoming.
