**Transfer Students: Other chemistry courses may be substituted for the Northern Michigan University chemistry course requirement (6 semester credits minimum) at the discretion of the nursing faculty.
The Nursing Department accepts biology courses (anatomy, physiology and microbiology) from other colleges and universities that are at least 3 credit hours. If any course that includes a laboratory component is less than 3 credit hours, the student will take the specific course at NMU or a substitute designated by the department.
In special circumstances the department may waive HN 301A Nutrition for Health Professions I and HN 301B Nutrition for Health Professions II if HN 210 Nutrition for Humans or an equivalent course has been successfully completed.
