An introduction to the principles and content areas of the science of psychology. This course includes a focus on the philosophy and methodology of science, using selected problems from psychology as examples for application and demonstration. Includes laboratory experience.

This course provides an overview of the scientific study of human behavior. Topics include the application of the scientific method in psychological research, biological psychology, learning, motivation, cognition, personality theory, social psychology, mental disorders, and other relevant topics.

An introduction to careers and areas of research in the field of psychology.

The interpretation and application of basic descriptive statistics and an introduction to statistical inference, including correlations, chi square, and analysis of variance. Includes coverage of basic research designs. Statistical software used for computation work as a laboratory experience.

An introduction to the methods and designs used to acquire knowledge within the psychological sciences, both causal (i.e., controlled experimental) and non-causal (e.g., survey, correlation and naturalistic observation). Empirical studies conducted in a laboratory experience.

Lifespan development brings together and applies knowledge from psychology to better understand the needs and critical issues facing humans from conception through old age and death.

This course will survey all aspects of social cognition--from implicit memory formation to social judgement and perception. The course draws from social psychology and cognitive theory to study of how people perceive, interpret, and remember information about themselves, other people, and social groups.
