Economics of Sports

EC 311 Economics of Sports 4 cr.

An application of basic microeconomic principles to the areas of professional and amateur sports organizations. Topics include, but are not limited to, supply and demand, elasticity, public finance of sports enterprises and labor economics.

Introduction to Economics

EC 101 Introduction to Economics 4 cr.

A survey of the basic principles of economics with an emphasis on their applications to current issues and/or historical events. Major economic structures like the banking system, government and global exchange are discussed. Supply and demand forces and their impact on these structures are addressed.

Notes:

Students who have credit in, or are currently enrolled in a 200+ level economics course will not be able to use EC 101 towards their degree.

Industrial Drawing and Design

DD 203 Industrial Drawing and Design 4 cr.  (2-1-2)

Students will complete an industry level design project using the design process, isometric sketching, and CAD models and assemblies. Advanced design topics include mechanical power transmission, fixtures, modeling with surfaces, and project data management (PDM). Students will present their projects upon completion. Project CAD work will include detail drawing packets with exploded views and BOMs.

Product Development and Design

DD 202 Product Development and Design 4 cr.  (2-1-2)

Application of CAD fundamentals and advanced topics with consideration for manufacturing practices. Topics include part configurations, weldments, sheet metal, nested assemblies, and organic parts using lofts and sweeps.  Students will calculate tolerances and fits and utilize geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Project completion will include detail drawing packets with exploded views and BOMs.
