Communication Studies Minor

Public Relations Minor

This minor is a professional program based off of the Public Relations Society of America’s Guidelines for Undergraduate Education. It teaches research, writing, and strategy skills that students need to succeed in private and public sector careers. Throughout the curriculum, students will work on client-based PR projects that help contribute to a professional portfolio of their work.

Theatre and Entertainment Arts Major - Bachelor of Arts

This degree focuses on the student and their particular needs. It combines both classroom and hands on education to create a well-rounded theatre generalist. The foundation of the curriculum is an equal mix of performance and technical theatre courses giving the student a solid launching pad in which to select their specific theatre electives. The elective requirements allow each student to build their specific education experience along with help from our dedicated faculty.

Communication Studies Major

This major teaches face-to-face communication skills and critical thinking skills based upon a body of knowledge that is transportable and applicable to a variety of career paths. Performance and theoretical electives afford students the opportunity to tailor their studies to their interests as they prepare for careers ranging from sales to supervision, from the ministry to law. A background in communication studies is an asset to all career-minded individuals who must communicate clearly, forcefully and persuasively.

Multimedia Production Major

This major focuses on a wide variety of production careers such as music recording and corporate video. Students use professionally equipped studios to learn concepts and apply them to create award-winning media content. The department’s labs include professional audio and video equipment using the latest digital technology such as Digidesign ProTools and Final Cut Pro.
