Master of Business Administration Programs

The courses in the MBA programs are taught by faculty in the College of Business. Classroom instruction is supplemented by visiting business practitioners who provide valuable perspectives and important networking opportunities.

The College of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. It is one of about 400 business programs worldwide to have this accreditation.
 

Master of Business Administration

The College of Business offers a graduate program leading to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. The primary objective of this program is to educate future, middle and senior managers to deal with the essential problems of choice, complexity and change in today’s challenging business environment. The program is designed to develop critical thinking and analytical skills that the manager can use to make effective decisions and solve organizational problems in a profit-oriented, free enterprise economy. Therefore, the program’s focus is directed toward decision making.
 

Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Business Analytics

The College of Business also offers a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Business Analytics. The MBA in Business Analytics requires the completion of 31-32 credits and is specifically designed to prepare students for the business analytics job market. The program will prepare students to leverage data mining techniques in order to make data-educated business decisions as managers. Also, the program prepares students to sit for Tableau Certification. Tableau’s data visualization platform is the industry leader.
 

4+1 Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting

The College of Business also offers a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Accounting. The MBA with a concentration in Accounting is a blended 4+1 program that will award the student a Bachelor of Science (in Business with a concentration in Accounting) and an MBA with a concentration in Accounting when completed.  The degree requires the completion of 150 credits, which includes undergraduate general education requirements, undergraduate credits for business degree, and graduate credits in business administration with a concentration in Accounting.  The typical five-year plan of study can be found here.  

The MBA component of this blended program requires 10 courses (30 credits) at the graduate level. Program requirements consist of four core classes (12 credits) from the traditional MBA curriculum in addition to the completion of an accounting core (12 credits).  Students select elective courses (6 credits) from the Behavioral and Quantitative course lists; students must take one course from each list.  A capstone portfolio project is also required for graduation.

The Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Accounting program is specifically designed to prepare students to sit for the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) exam and enter the accounting profession with an MBA.
