Meet Kate Gunville, a political science & communication studies double-major from Hartland, Wisconsin. She plans to graduate in May 2024.

I truly love the area. For me, Marquette has the perfect balance of nature and outdoor recreation. I also really enjoy the smaller class sizes since it has helped me to develop connections with my professors on a personal level.

I have always been passionate about the political world, so political science seemed to be a natural fit. I decided to also go with communications because that will only strengthen my work in political science. I also love how applicable the study of communications is to everyday life.

I have gotten to make really amazing connections with my professors who point me towards new opportunities.

I am the Secretary for PRSSA, this has been very rewarding because while I am not a public relations major, the world of politics is all about public relations and there is also a major overlap with communications. I am accumulating new knowledge and skills alongside some really incredible people.

As of now, I want to get my master's in political science. I am hoping to end up working as a political campaign advisor or some sort of political consultant.

You have the ability here to create connections with your professors, they are truly amazing resources and supporters.

I am thankful for my family and friends, who have shown me an endless amount of support.
