NMU Dining Student Employment

Before you begin working...

There are a few things that must be completed before you start your story with us. After you have accepted a position at one of our dining outlets please report to the Dining Services Central office - located in the Northern Center to fill out all of the necessary paperwork and obtain your Hire Authorization Card (Green&Gold Card). You will need to bring your original identification documents (Passport or ID and Birth Certificate/Social Security Card) - no photos or photo copies.

Prior experience is great, but not necessary. We will provide you with training and set you up for success.

You must be enrolled for 6 or more credits and be able to provide the employment office with a picture ID and proof of citizenship.

Not necessarily. Employment continuing from semester to semester largely relies on your attendance and your performance.

If you are an International Student hired at Dining Services you must call and make an appointment with the Dining Employment office, to complete your work authorization paperwork. We can be reached at 906-227-2496. We work directly with Angie Maki at International Programs to ensure students complete all necessary paperwork.

Ignite

Start your story early with Ignite! As an incoming freshman, you can secure an on-campus job and enjoy early move-in with complimentary meals & more. Beat the crowds and get settled in at a calmer pace, up to 10 days early.

Dining Services will reimburse the cost of early move in fees and meals and you can start earning some extra money right away! This is a great opportunity to secure your on-campus employment that works around your class schedule.
