DINE | NMU Meal Plans Overview
DINE | NMU Meal Plans provide participants a number of “all you care to eat” meals at Northern Lights Dining, or off the X-Change menu at the Wildcat Den & Fieras, based on the plan chosen. DINE | NMU meal plans are available for purchase by commuter students, faculty, staff and the local community.
DINE | NMU Plans are available to all commuter students, faculty, staff and the local community. To purchase a plan, you must visit the Wildcat Express Center, located in Room 1227 inside the Northern Center. You can purchase a plan using cash, check or adding the charge to your student account.

2025-2026 DINE | NMU Meal Plans
SUPERIOR PLAN- $725
Includes 60 meal visits and $150 CatCa$h
SMART PLAN – $600
Includes 50 meal visits and $100 CatCa$h
SENSIBLE PLAN- $385
Includes 30 meal visits and $75 CatCa$h
STANDARD PLAN – $265
Includes 25 meal visits
SIMPLE PLAN – $100
Includes $100 CatCa$h
DINE | NMU plans allow you to take advantage of all the great food available on campus every day. DINE | NMU plans carry-over from semester to semester. CatCa$h is a stored value account giving students, faculty, and staff the ability to pay for purchases with their Wildcat Express card. It works as a debit card allowing money to be pre-deposited onto the Wildcat Express card. There are no fees or other charges for opening or using a CatCa$h account. You can then use the card at various locations on campus. The plans do not allow our customers to request “To-Go” containers, or remove food and/or utensils from the dining rooms.
Need more meals? The DINE | NMU plans can be purchased again at any time or think about purchasing one of our Residential Meal Plans, these plans are also available to Faculty, Staff, Commuter Students, and Apartment Residents.
Meals associated with DINE | NMU plans are non-refundable and non-transferable; DINE | NMU plans that are inactive for 12 months as of March 31st will be closed and the balance will not be refunded.
You may request a refund of remaining CatCa$h funds by contacting the Wildcat Express Office.
Refunds are subject to a $15.00 administrative fee. All monies will be credited to the account holder's NMU student account. No refund will be made for accounts with a balance of less than $5 after the administrative closing fee has been assessed.
A CatCa$h account that is inactive for 12 months as of March 31st and has a balance of less than $15.00 will be closed and the balance will not be refunded. An account that is inactive for 12 months as of March 31st and has a balance of more than $15 will be closed and subject to the State of Michigan unclaimed property process.
