This class is for anyone who wants to learn about the basics of welding.
Welding as a hobby is a fun activity and a great way to tackle some of those DIY projects! This beginning/intermediate course is meant to show you the basics including safety, power sources, equipment set-up, general usage of oxygen acetylene cutting torches, arc welding and mig or wire feed welding along with plenty of time for practice, questions & answers. Lot's of hands-on practice.
Dates: Saturdays for 6 weeks; January 17th - February 21st, 2026
Time: 9 AM until Noon
Location: NMU’s Jacobetti Complex, Room 401, 2296 Sugar Loaf Ave., Marquette
The cost is $500 and includes instruction, equipment and all materials. Register today! Must meet an 8-person minimum. If you have your own welding hood, jacket, safety glasses or gloves, bring them with you. If you don't have these items, we will provide them for your use.
