Summer Housing Applications will open towards the end of March.
Note: The Summer housing application is only necessary when housing is needed between the Winter and Fall semesters.
Who qualifies for summer housing?
- Current and incoming NMU students. You do not have to be enrolled in summer classes.
- NMU affiliates. Please contact us about eligibility.
We do not offer summer housing to the general public, vacationers, or individuals seeking short-term rentals. NMU residence halls are not hotels or short-term stay facilities.
Steps to apply for summer housing
- Complete the Summer Housing Application.
- The application must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to your stay.
- Verify your payment option with the Student Service Center.
- Payment depends on if you're taking summer classes or are enrolled at the university.
I submitted my application - what's next?
Follow up with the Student Service Center. If payment is not verified through the Student Service Center, you will not be assigned to summer housing.
Canceling my reservation
If your plans change and you will not be living on campus as indicated on the application, you must notify the Housing and Residence Life Office in writing (send an email to housing@nmu.edu) at least five working days before you are scheduled to move in to avoid a $50 cancellation fee.
