Summer Housing Application Instructions

To request summer housing, please complete the Summer College Housing Application and return it to the Housing and Residence Life Office via email or in person.

Location: The Housing Office is located behind the WellBeing Center, off Parking Lot #15.

Payment: Full summer housing payment is due prior to your move-in date. Charges will appear on your eBill after your assignment is confirmed.


New Summer Guest Housing Policy

Housing and Residence Life provides summer accommodations only to individuals with verified Northern Michigan University (NMU) affiliation. This includes enrolled students, participants in NMU-sponsored camps and conferences, and guests with official university business.

We do not offer summer housing to the general public, vacationers, or individuals seeking short-term rentals. NMU residence halls are not hotels or short-term stay facilities.

To request summer housing, individuals must provide documentation of NMU business or sponsorship. All requests are subject to approval and availability.

Note: The Summer housing application is only necessary when housing is needed between the Winter and Fall semesters. 

Canceling Your Reservation

If your plans change and you will not be living on campus as indicated on the application, you must notify the Housing and Residence Life Office in writing (send an email to housing@nmu.edu) at least five working days before you are scheduled to move in to avoid a $50 cancellation fee.
