joined the faculty of Francis Marion University in 2006 as an assistant professor of history. In 2012, he became chair of the History Department. He served as associate provost for academic affairs, and director of graduate programs from 2016-2019 when he was then appointed vice president for student life. He has been appointed as the new director of Francis Marion University’s Honors Program. Dr. Kennedy received his Bachelor of Arts from Northern Michigan University, Master of Arts from Providence College, and the Ph.D. from University College Cork, National University of Ireland. He met his wife, Brigid Kennedy (Heatley) at NMU where she was also a student and an RA in West Hall.
