The NMU School of Nursing requires that you receive certification by the American Heart Association (AHA) in the Heartcode BLS (Basic Life Support) Provider course. No other training will be accepted. You must upload a copy of your card to your DISA Healthcare Technology (Castlebranch) account. Certification must be renewed every two years and your new card must be uploaded to DISA Healthcare Technology (Castlebranch).
CPR courses offered at NMU are listed below (see the NMU School of Health and Human Performance website for the most current courses), but you may receive training at any location providing training approved by the American Heart Association for the Heartcode BLS course.

- Friday, November 14, 2025 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
- Friday, December 5, 2025 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, December 10, 2025 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.
Renewal class (must not be expired or be within 30 days of expiration):
- Saturday, September 27, 2025 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, October 8, 2025 6:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m.
- Sunday, October 26, 2025 6:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m.
- Sunday, November 9, 2025 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.
