This course provides introductory elevated outdoor work-site field experiences related to electrical power distribution and transmission. Climbing, rigging, pole setting, pole framing, guying and conductor installation will be stressed. A strong focus will be placed on industry recognized safe work procedures. In addition, safe operation of bucket and digger/derrick trucks will be emphasized. Students will also develop an understanding of the requirements and necessary skills to obtain a Class A CDL.

This course provides introductory training related to the safe operation and use of commercial vehicle and other equipment commonly used in the electrical power distribution and transmission systems industry to obtain a commercial driver license (CDL).

This course introduces students to tools and equipment used by electrical line technicians and to the materials used in the construction of power distribution and transmission systems. Students learn about work procedures, climbing techniques, rigging, pole setting, pole framing, guying, and conductor installation. A strong focus is placed on industry-recognized safe work procedures and safe operation of a bucket truck and digger/derrick equipment.

The course provides advanced elevated outdoor work-site field experiences related to electrical power transmission. Complex wiring operations will be completed on various elevated work sites including poles and towers. Students will also continue to develop an understanding of the requirements and necessary skills to obtain a Class A CDL.

This course provides students information about personal health and driving, public and employer relations, and how to document an accident or injury. Students will also take practice CDL exams to prepare them for the state test.

This course introduces students to tools and equipment used by electrical line technicians and to the materials used in the construction of power distribution and transmission systems. This course will prepare students for an introduction to tools and equipment used by linemen in the field as well as the materials used in the construction of power distribution and transmission systems. Students learn about work procedures, EPZ grounding, transformer connections, live line tools and equipment, hot work procedures, URD installation, switching, and substations. A strong focus is placed on industry recognized safe work procedures and safe operation of a bucket truck and digger/derrick equipment.
