Meet Brandon Erkkila, a BS Community Health Education alumnus from Kingsford, MI. Brandon currently resides in Appleton, WI where he is employed as a Field Sales Trainer in Womens Health for Sumitomo Pharmaceuticals.

Former and Current Roles

Currently a Field Sales Trainer in women's Health for Sumitomo Pharmaceuticals.

Former, I’ve sold pharmaceuticals for Aztra Zeneca, Eisai, Takeda and Biogen.

I am also an assistant women's hockey coach for the NCAA D3 St.Norbert Green Knights.

Brief Description of What You Do

I teach new hires and current pharmaceutical representatives how to sell and engage customers.

What at NMU helped you most in your current role?

I had learning disabilities, I didn’t think I could get a college degree. While at NMU I was also diagnosed with cancer and my professors wouldn’t let me leave. They knew it would be better for me to stay and focus on school while fighting cancer.
I am forever grateful for the faculty for everything they did for me.

What advice would you give current students?

Enjoy it, it goes fast. Spend time with your friends and enjoy the nature around you.

Are there personal interests and/or activities you care to share?

I didn’t study sales at NMU but the coaching education I received has led to my success as a NCAA hockey coach
