Meet Carolyn McDonald, a 1966 BA Education alumna, who transferred to NMU after two years at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Carolyn currently resides in Marquette, MI, where she spends much of her free time volunteering after retiring from many years of teaching. 

Carolyn served as the first woman president of the Golden Wildcat Club, where her organization presented a $300,00 check to NMU President Appleberry. Carolyn was also the first woman to complete her student teaching program while pregnant. Lastly, Carolyn participated in regularly reading and teaching a blind student during her time at NMU.

 

Carolyn taught in multiple cities throughout her career, such as Northern's Early Childhood Center, before retiring in Marquette. 

Carolyn is currently the chair of a local county board.
