Meet Charlie Arnold, a 2020 Alumnus from Corpus Christi, Tx. Charlie currently lives in Wakefield, Mi and is a Professional ASVAB tutor.
Brief Description of What You Do
I take pride in my work as an online Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) tutor, primarily because I want to help people enlist who would be otherwise disqualified due to testing scores. Me myself, I have been medically disqualified due to hearing loss. I lost my chance to go to Germany as an Intelligence Analyst.
What at NMU helped you most in your current role?
What advice would you give current students?
The biggest piece of advice that I would give to current students to take your education seriously, but avoid neglecting the excellent extracurricular programs that NMU offers. I was blessed to be a part of so many different groups (Eco Reps, Criminal Justice Association, Fisheries and Wildlife Association, Quiz Bowl, etc...). Join the Superior Edge and volunteer as much as you can. The experiences you have and people you meet will stay with you for a lifetime.
Are there personal interests and/or activities you care to share?
I love to travel the world and leave everything behind to embrace a new culture. So far in my life, I've visited Albania, Greece and Mexico. I'm going to continue fighting for my opportunity to continue traveling the world. There are so many places, so many things and so many people I have not encountered yet.
