Jan Levi

Meet Jan (Sorensen) Levi, a 2001 alumna (BS Marketing) from Ishpeming, Mi. Jan currently lives in Puyallup, WA. Jan currently serves as a Procurement Agent for Boeing and is a Graduate Student at Michigan State University, pursuing a Master's of Arts in Strategic Communications. Formerly, Jan served in several positions, including HR, marketing, sales manager, workforce and staffing specialist as well as community coordinator for KI Sawyer. Jan has also been a stay at home mother and homeschooler

 

 

I currently work in the supply chain field as a Corporate buyer (Procurement Agent). I have worked in both defense and commercial business units to ensure superior production is completed with quality parts on time. A lot of my job is building trusting relationships with suppliers and ensuring contractual obligations are met.
 

I think of my Marketing and Business professors often as I recall theories and strategies for business operations.

You have a long road ahead of you to build your career. I have worked over 20 years of different jobs and never thought that I would have a career that fit my professional goals. Shortly after I finished college, I chose to have a family first instead of pursuing a full-time professional career. After 20 years of being out of college, I now have a fulfilling career and see continued growth in my professional life. Don't ever give up on what you actually WANT to do.

I have 6 children and am a fulltime graduate student at Michigan State University pursuing a Masters in Strategic Communications. I don't have much free time, but when I do, you can find me either laying on a beach, hiking in the mountains or going for ride in my husband's corvette.
