Meet Russell Kassin, a 2002 Alumnus from Iron Mountain, Michigan. Russell is currently the President and CLO of First National Bank & Trust.
Brief Description of What You Do
I help our customers fund their business and personal needs through a consultative approach versus an order taking approach. We really try to understand our customers needs and wants and work with them to achieve their dreams.
What at NMU helped you most in your current role?
NMU has helped me with my critical thinking skills. This skillset is needed each and everyday at my job and career.
What advice would you give current students?
Please make sure that you develop your relationships inside and outside of your field of study/workplace. Sometimes it is not what you know but who you know which helps you with the success you have in your career. Building relationships is needed in every job and facet of life.
Are there personal interests and/or activities you care to share?
Spending time with Family, watching sports, and enjoying the UP Weather!! My family consists of 4 children (all boys - Carter, Lucas, Brayden, & Noah) & my wife of 20 years(also a NMU 2002 alumni - Joy Kassin)
