IM 215 Maintenance Systems and Technical Communication 3 cr.  (2-0-2)

Students will study various preventive maintenance practices and philosophies in conjunction with troubleshooting and root cause analysis of deficiencies and failures of mechanical power transmission systems. Technical communication and its application to maintenance activities will be covered. Lab activities will reinforce theory discussions.

Principles of design, operation and maintenance of pumps, industrial valves and piping systems used to move liquids and materials in industry.

INTT 222 Art Meets Science 4 cr.  (4-0-0)

In this interdisciplinary course, students will explore and analyze the relationship between natural science and the visual arts. We will examine the historical and current synergy between the art and science and consider patterns based on examples where the two disciplines worked in concert. We will explore the close interrelationship between these two academic areas and consider how both areas can enrich our understanding of the world.

An opportunity to participate in and report on campus and community events of an international nature, keep track of and report on current events and issues from around the world, learn about various world countries, and network with classmates and others.

IP 490 International Studies Seminar 4 cr.

  • Prerequisites: Completion of study abroad experience and 75 credit hours, junior standing or instructor's permission.

Students reflect on and build on their study abroad experience, including discussion of cultural adaptation. They increase their research skills by researching elements of the country in which they studied abroad, then report in both oral and written formats. They participate in and report on campus and community events with international dimensions, follow current events and issues from around the world, and network with classmates and others.

IS 116 Cybersecurity Fundamentals 4 cr.  (4-0-0)

Students will learn fundamental principles for protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information. A broad overview of topics are covered such as operating system security, cryptography, ethical hacking, and programming. Students will learn to protect themselves and organizations from common cybersecurity threats.

IS 236 Cybersecurity Foundations 4 cr.  (4-0-0)

Students learn the core body of knowledge required in the cybersecurity discipline. Technical, operational, and physical security best practices are covered in depth. Students will gain experience using industry standard tools and techniques for preventing, detecting, and responding to cybersecurity attacks.

IS 436 Network Security Tools and Techniques 4 cr.  (4-0-0)

Provides students with an in-depth view of advanced network technology and protocols, intrusion detection and prevention, network security administration, and data administration. Students will gain valuable hands-on experience using current tools and techniques for securing networks.

IT 180 Introduction to Fluid Power 3 cr.  (2-0-2)

An overview of fluid power technology and a working introduction to each of the components used in fluid power circuits. Hydraulic and pneumatic fundamentals of fluid dynamics, conventional fluid circuits and fluid power components.
