About Lydia
Lydia’s love for exploring the outdoors drew her to the Upper Peninsula, where she found NMU’s new Master’s in Sustainability program. Her interests in sustainability, climate change impacts, and the Great Lakes Region will be applied as she studies community development and planning in the U.P.. Her passion for travel and learning about sustainability and climate change impacts in new places has influenced Lydia to pursue the practicum track of study for her program. Lydia’s unique experience working with nonprofit organizations through the Connected Communities Initiative with UW-Stevens Point and UH-Maui College has her eager to connect with local organizations to develop projects during her practicum based study. As a graduate assistant outreach coordinator for the EEGS Department, Lydia looks forward to helping the department develop new outreach initiatives and find new ways to share exciting news and events.
