December Wellbeing Events for Students

Because as President Schuiling says, “We want our campus community to remain as healthy as possible heading into final exams, end-of-semester and holiday activities, commencement and the semester break,” several Wellbeing events designed to help students manage stress are being offered on campus this December.

Do you love dogs? Are you missing your pet from home? If so, come visit the NMU Wildpups! The Wildpups are a team of dogs who will cheer you up and make you smile on both good and tough days. The events are located in the Lydia Olson Library. All are welcome to attend!

Identity Protection Services

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan has partnered with Experian to offer all eligible members identity protection services at no cost.  You and your dependents are eligible for these services if you are enrolled in the NMU group health plan.  Experian IdentityWorks offers more protection and the option to enroll at any time.  Once you enroll in IdentityWorks, you will have access

Celebrate the launch of this year's Diversity Common Reader Program with free books and refreshments! 2023 Retirement Plan Limits

The contribution limits for employees who participate in the voluntary 403(b) and/or 457(b) plans has increased from $20,500 to $22,500 in 2023; and the catch-up contribution limit for employees age 50 and over who participate in these plans increased from $6,500 to $7,500 in 2023.

Stress Awareness Day Drawing Winners

Wednesday, November 2, was National Stress Awareness Day. We hope that many were able to enjoy some time at the PEIF, with the Wildpups or participating in another activity that helps decrease stress. Flex Spending & Annual Enrollment

The Human Resources Department will hold its annual enrollment period beginning Monday, November 7th through Monday, November 14th.   This is your opportunity to enroll in the Flexible Spending Accounts for next year.  In addition if you, your spouse, or children are not currently enrolled in the medical, dental or vision plans this is your chance to do so. 

The Writing Center is Open!

Our writing tutors are ready to assist students with writing projects. Very often, talking to an experienced student writer could help one generate ideas and learn to avoid writing errors. Come to see us!
