With capacity limits on in-person campus visits and new student orientation going virtual, we thought you might be craving an in-person NMU experience.
So... we created a day of activities for you and your family. We hope you'll join us.
This is an optional in-person experience filled with activities designed for fall 2021 admitted students and their families to get comfortable with NMU.
We promise not to make you sit in a lecture hall and listen to a boring powerpoint presentation. Instead, try out our fat tire bikes on the trails, take a history tour around Marquette, learn about careers in your field while you scale to the top of NMU's indoor rock climbing wall.
Bring your family and Experience Northern!
Registration is now closed.
Welcome back to NMU!! Fall Fest will be taking place during the first two days of classes from 11 am to 3 pm. Come join us on the Academic Mall for some free food and drinks, and learn more about how you can get involved on campus and in your local community!
Tuesday, Aug. 24: Day 2 of Fall Fest will be dedicated to showcasing local businesses and non-profit agencies in the Marquette area. This will be your chance to learn about different volunteer opportunities and how to get involved in the community.
*This day’s events will be held “Rain or Shine.”

The main reason that Superior Edge is sweeping across the NMU campus is really quite simple. Participants can get recognized for the activities and endeavors they are active with both in- and out-of-the-classroom. There are four edges: Citizenship, Diversity, Leadership, and Real World. These edges each represent 100 hours of achievement in volunteerism, diversity awareness, leadership experience, and hands-on job experience. Join us to see how you can get started with this unique and innovative program.
Dallas St. Onge, a Superior Edge/Volunteer Center Coordinator, will be leading this orientation.
Earth Day, come join us (and many other clubs) in the Academic Mall to celebrate and protect the Earth! Various environment/sustainability-minded clubs will be set up on the lawn, either with information about how to get involved with them, an interactive activity, or both! We'll be out from 12-4, feel free to stop by at any time! Masks must be worn correctly and social distancing followed for the entirety of the event.
At The New England Center for Children, we train and educate the next generation of autism educators. At this virtual event, you will meet a NECC representative who will tell you all about open opportunities in autism education and will answer any questions you may have!
