CEWD collaborates with businesses and industries throughout the Upper Peninsula. The primary objective is to create, sustain and retain a skilled workforce that supports current business and industry while considering the future workforce.

English as a Second Language provides instruction to develop stronger English speaking, writing and comprehension skills, as well as deepen American culture understanding. ELI has ongoing programs and can customize a program to meet the needs for small or large groups. No TOEFL, IEL TS or MELAB test score is needed to enter the ELI program.
The NMU Global Campus is the gateway to all distance education learning that takes place at Northern Michigan University. Whether you are beginning a degree program or looking to complete your education, NMU's online offerings are convenient and flexible. You can earn your degree online while maintaining work and family commitments. The virtual campus provides the same educational rigor and learning experience as offered to our traditional on-campus students.

We’ve got the place for you to explore its market feasibility, Invent@NMU. They are an award-winning entrepreneurial program that gives NMU students real-world experience in helping regional and statewide clients take physical products from concept to market. With the help of professional mentors, students develop skills in design, manufacturing and marketing. Services offered are available to students, individual inventors, start-ups and even existing companies with innovative ideas but who lack the experience or resources to fully execute the process.
