League Offerings
The Northern Michigan University Golf Course hosts league play for men, NMU employees and several area service clubs. Leagues compete weekly throughout the season (May through September).
These are the following leagues that we host: Men's League, NMU League, Elks League, and Masonic League.
Men's League
The Northern Michigan University Golf Course offers a Men's League on Tuesday evenings. Openings are for 3 three-person teams. Deadline is April 29th. NMU League
The Northern Michigan University Golf Course offers NMU League, which is open to Northern employees, spouses and dependents, retirees, alumni and friends of NMU. We are looking for 3 person team registrations. Inquiries can be sent to golf@nmu.edu. Deadline is May 6th.
The league is every Thursday night during the season (May through October). The league plays a 3-person, 9-hole scramble format. On every hole, each team member hits tee shot. The team then decides which ball to play. Each player then hits from that position. The same format is used until the ball is holed. A team handicap will be established after the first week of play.
The league fee is $30 per person, which is used for prizes and the season-end banquet. There is no weekly greens fee for NMU Golf Course members; non-members pay $16 per week. Cart rental is $9 per rider (max 2 riders) per session.
Elks League
An Elks golf league plays at the Northern Michigan University Golf Course at 9 a.m. Thursday mornings. For more information about the league e-mail golf@nmu.edu or or call 906-227-3111.
