Principles of Critical Investigation

This course centers on principles and methods of literary study by introducing students to a few (three to five) major schools of literary criticism and their application to selected literary works. The course also will provide an introduction to advanced research methods and appropriate conventions for documentation. This required graduate course should be taken during the first year of study.
