National Rural Health Day Essay Contest

In celebration of this year’s National Rural Health Day, recognized on November 21tst, the Literacy Legacy Fund of Michigan, the Michigan Center for Rural Health (Michigan's State Office of Rural Health) and the Northern Michigan University Center for Rural Health are partnering to extend an opportunity to all high school seniors who reside and attend school in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, are college/university bound in fall 2025, and intend to pursue a healthcare career.

Oral Health Literacy Project

In thanks, once again, to the Literacy Legacy Fund of Michigan, March is Reading Month, was celebrated by the Northern Michigan University Center for Rural Health. NMU students currently enrolled in the pre-dental and pre-medical academic tracks at Northern Michigan University joined forces to read and engage with second grade youth in an effort to increase awareness and education about proper oral hygiene.

U.P. CHW Symposium

This event will be an opportunity for you to network, expand your knowledge base, and obtain continuing education credits. It is FREE for all U.P. CHWs to attend and will be hosted fully in-person at the NMU Ballrooms.
