Naima Hasan-Jones

Assistant Professor

Naima Hasan-Jones, LMSW, CAADC, CCS, is a licensed master’s level social worker with extensive experience in the fields of child welfare, substance use treatment, and the juvenile justice system. Naima earned her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from Carthage College in Kenosha and her Master’s degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago.

Over the course of her career, Naima has served in a wide range of roles, including working in child welfare and as a corrections liaison in the juvenile justice field. She has provided therapeutic services in both co-ed and gender-specific substance use disorder (SUD) programs and has held leadership positions as a Clinical Supervisor in both settings. Her professional experience also includes work within the family and juvenile court systems, where she has advocated for and supported system-involved youth and families.

Naima is certified as a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) and a Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS). She currently serves on the Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP), where she is also a member of the Ethics Committee. In addition to her clinical work, Naima regularly provides trainings on ethics and boundaries, as well as SUD education to community members and professionals. She has facilitated therapeutic groups using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) approaches.

In her free time, Naima enjoys traveling, attending concerts, spending time with family and friends, and reading when time allows.
