Student Support Services is one of the TRIO programs funded through the U.S. Department of Education. Our primary goals: increase the retention and graduation rates of first generation and low income students and students with disabilities seeking a baccalaureate degree.
We work with dedicated students who have an academic need and meet at least one of the following eligibility criteria:
- You are a first generation college student where neither parent has earned a baccalaureate degree
- You are from a low income household (determined by federal guidelines)
- You have a documented disability
Students accepted into the program will meet with their advisor at least 4 times a semester. A support plan is developed each year to assist advisees in meeting their specific academic and personal goals.

- Academic and personal advising
- Exploration of academic majors and related careers
- Assistance with the financial aid process and managing educational expenses
- Academic tutoring
- Graduate school exploration
- Referral services
- Student Advocacy
