Dear Prospective & Previous Donors,
Cancer touches all our lives. The Incredible Bank - Hope Starts Here Challenge is dedicated to supporting families affected by brain cancer through treatment, research, education, and advocacy. In its 15-year history, the event has raised more than $415,000 to support the Upper Michigan Brain Tumor Center – a collaboration between Northern Michigan University, U.P. Health System – Marquette, and the Superior Health Foundation. Due to the pandemic this past year our 2020 event was converted to a virtual event and moved from May to August. Despite these challenges we were still able to raise $30,000 due to your continued support. We cannot thank you enough!
Year after year, we continue to be amazed at the amount of people coming out to support this great cause, many of whom have been with us since the beginning. Snow, sleet, rain, or sun - our supporters continue to brave all the elements thrown at us in this unique early season event and goes to show why we are blessed to be able to call a community like Marquette our home! Each year the event grows, and the heartfelt stories of loved ones affected by brain cancer sadly increase. The needs are greater than ever, and that’s why we’re asking for your help.
We understand this past year has been hard on the business community with the economic shutdowns and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. For 2021, we will once again hold a virtual event that still allows us to honor our loved ones, support the research of the UMBTC and continue to fight brain cancer. We understand that many will not be able to support us as you may have in the past, but any amount will help. We plan to feature and honor our traditional sponsors at the same levels as last year in the event you need to decrease your contribution. If you can “level-up” we will surely recognize that as appropriate.
Brain cancer and brain tumor research doesn’t stop during a pandemic. Please help us continue the mission and the fight of the Upper Michigan Brain Tumor Center. At the UMBTC we are sculpting and inspiring the young research scientists and medical professionals that will one day surely conquer this deadly disease.
