Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Qualifies the holder to perform a life-saving emergency procedure on someone who cannot breathe on their own due to a near-drowning incident, suffocation or another life-threatening event. This certification must be renewed bi-annually (every 2 years).
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
The Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT®) is a paraprofessional certification in behavior analysis. RBTs assist in delivering behavior analysis services and practice under the direction and close supervision of an BCBA. This certification must be renewed annually.
CITI Training
Northern Michigan University subscribes to the CITI Program to provide research and ethics training to NMU faculty, staff and student researchers. The CITI Program provides high quality, peer-reviewed, web-based educational courses in research, ethics, regulatory oversight, responsible conduct of research, and research administration. CITI training is available for animal and human subject researchers, and for both NMU students and faculty.
Handle With Care (HWC)
The Handle With Care Program is the only crisis management system approved by BEAR Center administration. Training in HWC is mandatory and provided by the BEAR Center. HWC certification is renewed annually.
