The NMU regalia vendor, Oak Hall, will make a free cap/gown for a service animal that will be assisting a student participating in the NMU commencement ceremony.
Please contact the Paul Wright, pwright@nmu.edu, at NMU Bookstore with the following information at the beginning of the semester you plan to graduate:
- Type of animal
- Height from back to floor
- Length from shoulders to beginning of tail
- Waist girth
Additional cords, stoles, and other regalia may be available through extracurricular programs or organizations you participated in during your time at NMU. Please check with the relevant departments or program coordinators to confirm availability and eligibility.
Examples of additional regalia include:
First-Generation Students: Light Blue Cord – provided by the Dean of Students
Superior Edge Program Graduates: Blue Cord – awarded to students who complete all four edges, provided by the Center for Student Enrichment
Student-Athletes: Athletic Stole – provided by the NMU Department of Athletics (Compliance Office)
