Michigan law, as well as university regulations and policies, prohibit the use of alcohol at the commencement ceremony. This policy will be strictly enforced.

Restrooms are located throughout the Superior Dome and P.E.I.F. They are handicapped accessible.

Public and campus telephones are located near the main entrance of the Superior Dome.

The Superior Dome is handicapped accessible. The university does not rent wheelchairs. A section of seating is available on the main floor for handicapped and senior seating. Reservations are NOT needed, seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Reasonable and effective accommodations and services will be provided to students if requests are made in a timely manner with appropriate documentation, in accordance with federal state and university guidelines.

Attendees can contact a Commencement Staff member -- they wear gold name-plate pins --   for assistance locating a wheelchair for transportation to the reserved seating or any other questions or concerns.

Tickets are not required for NMU's commencement ceremony. The Superior Dome seats approximately 8,000 people. There will be a section of chairs on the main floor available for physically challenged individuals.  One family member may sit with the individual.  Reservations are NOT required, seats are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Parents and guests should arrive early (between 9:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.) to avoid traffic congestion driving into the Superior Dome area and to obtain seating of their choice. The Superior Dome opens at 9:30 a.m. on commencement day. Commencement will begin at 10:30 a.m.
