Program Overview
Are you interested in connections among ecological, economic, and social systems? Do you want to work collaboratively to address sustainability challenges? If so, then consider adding a minor in Environmental Studies. Students who minor in Environmental Studies at NMU are trained and educated to observe and measure how people interact with Earth’s natural and cultural environments and are better positioned to understand our changing world and to ensure its sustainability. This environmental awareness subsequently improves the performance of business, planning, law, management, education, communication, criminal justice, public affairs, and other professions as they deal with environmental ethics and challenges.
