Nick Hamel

Adjunct Special Instructor

Biographical Profile:

Nick Hamel has been programming, operating, and maintaining CNC equipment since 2007 after graduating from NMU with a CNC Certificate.  His passions in manufacturing are programming, operating Swiss lathes and anything involving motion control and precision metal cutting.  After earning his certificate, he was employed at Pioneer Surgical (now Exalta) for 16 years working on Swiss Lathes and maintenance.  In 2021, he began working at Mount MFG and currently supervises 16 employees within its Swiss Department.  

When he's not working or teaching, Nick enjoys going on adventures with his family, hunting, fishing and spending time at his camp on Casey Lake.   

The 2026 Fall Semester marks Nick's first semester as an adjunct in the department.  He is looking forward to helping grow the next generation of passionate machinists and manufacturing associates.
