Schedule of Events

Homecoming 2026 will be held on Friday, September 18 and Saturday, September 19

The below schedule is subject to change, with more events being added as we get closer to the dates.

ON DISPLAY: Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center

NMU's Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center will have an exhibit on display during Homecoming Weekend and beyond. 

Located at the front of Gries Hall (across from the digital sign at the intersection of 7th and Tracy ave.)

  • Thursday, September 17: 6 - 8 p.m.
  • Friday, September 18: noon - 5 p.m.
  • Saturday September 19: noon - 4 p.m.

     

Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center
A modern building with a combination of red brick and glass-paneled walls at Northern Michigan University. In front of the building, three students sit on concrete benches near some small trees and greenery. ON DISPLAY: DeVos Art Museum

NMU's DeVos Art Museum will have an exhibit on display during Homecoming Weekend and beyond. 

Located in the Art & Design building on the campus of NMU, the corner of Tracy and 7th Streets.

Schedule of Events (subject to change)

NMU Homecoming Parade

Join us for the annual Homecoming Parade at 5:30 p.m.

Participants will line up behind the Superior Dome and on Pine Street. The parade will start on Fair Avenue (in front of the Berry Events Center) heading towards Third street. Then go up Third, turn left on Hewitt, then go down Front Street, and finish back behind the Superior Dome.

A banquet hall set for a luncheon with round tables set with black tablecloths, green runners, and elegant table settings. Each table has a floral centerpiece, salads, cups, glasses, and table number. A projected screen in the background displays "Luncheon.

Alumni Awards Luncheon

We honor our Alumni Award winners and recognize all that they have done since they have been at NMU.

Celebrating alumni on their 50th Anniversary of their graduation from NMU.

Take a walk through the history of campus with Dan Truckey, Director of the Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center.

Green vs. Gold Wildcats & Alumni Swim and Dive

10 AM
PEIF Pool

The Green vs. Gold Wildcats & Alumni swim and dive meet is a competition between the Green and Gold teams, with alumni also participating. The event is a fun way to kick off the season and get the swimmers and divers ready for competition.

A group of fans are tailgating under a Embers Credit Union branded pop-up tent that has at a Northern Michigan University. They are dressed in team apparel, holding props, and cheering energetically. A large school flag is being waved, and food and drinks are spread out on a table.

Join us for a tailgate party as we celebrate homecoming and the lead up to the football game.  This event is free and open to the public.
