NMU Homecoming

Join us as NMU celebrates its 125th anniversary with a Homecoming like no other! This year, we're taking a nostalgic trip down memory lane with the theme "Yearbook: Notes from Northern."

The Special Events Committee (SEC) has curated a series of student-led Homecoming activities, in collaboration with other student organizations and departments, to make this celebration truly memorable. Below is a timeline of the exciting events you can look forward to:

2024 Student Activities

Dead River Games

Sunday, September 15

1 p.m. | Tourist Park

One of our longest-standing traditions is in a new location! Student teams will go head-to-head in a series of exciting relay races, competing to be crowned #1. Whether you're racing or cheering from the sidelines, this event is filled with energy and school spirit!

Wildcat Market

Tuesday, September 17

4 p.m. | Northern Center Lot 1

Join ASNMU for the first Farmers Market on campus! There will be live music, a variety of vendors including local farmers, artisans, and food producers, yard games, workshops, and more. This event is free to enter and open to the public.

Pre-Parade Party

Thursday, September 19

4 p.m. | Behind the Dome

This event provides valuable time for competing student groups to decorate their golf cart floats for the parade. Students enjoy pizza and music while they get creative. Participating groups will be judged during the Parade on Friday, Sept. 20 to see who has the best float!

Friday, September 20

5:30 p.m. | Third Street

Come watch as our campus community showcases their campus pride through creative float displays. Enjoy candy, music, and an exciting float competition! Hosted by SEC

Parade Route: To start, the parade will turn right on Fair (in front of the Berry Events Center), go up Third, turn left on Hewitt, and down Front.

Outdoor Concert

Friday, September 20

After Parade | Behind the Dome

Join us for a FREE outdoor concert following the parade, featuring a headlining act to be announced! Stay tuned for more updates.

Saturday, September 21

11 a.m. | Behind the Dome

This is your chance to hang out with the NMU campus community and kick off the Homecoming Football game! There will be FREE food, refreshments, bounce houses, yard games and music!

NMU Football vs. Alma College

Saturday, September 21

1 p.m. | Superior Dome

The NMU Football game will be the grand finale of Homecoming week featuring the marching band. This is an event you won't want to miss!
