Jane Kopecky 66 BS 80 MAE

was a presenter at the International Peace History Conference at Gwynedd Mercy University in Pennsylvania. She was one of three panelists discussing conscription, consciousness objection and draft resistance in American history. Her award-winning book, WWII Conscientious Objectors, Germfask, MI the Alcatraz Camp documents the only history of a conscientious camp in the U.S. It was a special camp established in cooperation between the Selective Service System and the Michigan Department of Mental Hygiene to study objectors.
