Grow your professional skillset with our free virtual H.O.P.E Training!
Join us on Tuesday, April 1st from 11:30am-1:00pm EST for a free virtual (via Zoom) H.O.P.E. Training. The H.O.P.E (Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences) Training is a professional development program based on the strength-based H.O.P.E framework, developed by the H.O.P.E National Resource Center at Tufts University. This training aims to help professionals support the children and families they serve by prioritizing the promotion of access to positive childhood experiences (PCEs) for every child, which have been proven to protect adult health. The program also serves as an excellent complement to ACES training.
What you will learn:
- Better understand the research behind positive childhood experiences (PCEs) and the power of the brain to heal
- Discuss the Four Building Blocks of HOPE and the key types of positive childhood experiences that all children need to thrive
- Develop an understanding of how to incorporate HOPE-informed practice into your work with children and families
This training is sponsored by the NMU Center for Rural Health and Grow & Lead. It is offered free of charge to U.P. Community Health Workers and Grow & Lead Staff.

Meet Your Trainer: Monet Borione, MDHHS
Monet Borione is a Certified HOPE Facilitator and is passionate about educating more people about the benefits of Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs). Working in Child Welfare for the State of Michigan for the last decade, Monet has seen firsthand the devastating effects of trauma and toxic stress. Despite years of training on trauma and coordinating the child abuse and neglect council, she saw little change. Witnessing child abuse injury, depression, suicide, substance use and then a global pandemic, she needed to find a glimmer of hope. She needed something new to anchor her work and to share with teachers, home visitors, and fellow child welfare warriors. In 2021, she found it. Using the HOPE framework, Monet has infused new energy into her work and shared this knowledge with her community. We can make a difference. Together, we can help ensure that all children are happy; supported; and have access to a bright future.
