Competition Background & Overview
In an effort to further protect our campus communities, the Center for Rural Health at Northern Michigan University is bringing universities and colleges throughout the U.P. together to “Fight the Flu”. Bay College, Bay Mills Community College, Gogebic Community College, Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa Community College, Finlandia University, Lake Superior State University, Michigan Technological University and Northern Michigan University are competing to see which school can get the highest percentage of students, staff and faculty vaccinated against the flu.
The winning school will receive the traveling trophy to display over the next year, but best of all, bragging rights!

How to Participate
Finlandia University, Michigan Technological University and Northern Michigan University: Students, staff and faculty who have received (or plan to receive) their flu vaccination at campus sponsored flu shot clinic events are not required to self-report. These schools will be providing the number of vaccinations distributed in totality after each event throughout the competition and the leader board will be updated accordingly.
Bay College, Bay Mills Community College, Gogebic Community College, Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa Community College, and Lake Superior State University: Students, staff and faculty are encouraged to anonymously self-report once they have received their flu vaccination by clicking on the "Compete Now" button below. No personal information is collected, just the name of your school and the fact that you're anonymously acknowledging you have received your flu vaccine.
Receiving your flu vaccination off campus?
All individuals who receive their flu vaccination elsewhere such as at an outpatient clinic, a health department, a community flu shot event or at a pharmacy, are encouraged to anonymously self-report by clicking on the "Compete Now" button above. No personal information is collected, just the name of the school you are affiliated with and the fact that you're anonymously acknowledging you have received your flu vaccine.
Where to get vaccinated
In addition to some of the schools hosting flu shot clinics on campus, the Flu vaccine is also available at outpatient clinics, local health departments, community Flu shot events and pharmacies.
