Membership in the NMU Sigma Xi is determined by initial nomination and acceptance to the national Sigma Xi organization and by the subsequent maintenance of membership through dues payment.
Join Sigma Xi
To join Sigma Xi, you will need to be nominated by a member and complete a membership application.
- Full Membership is conferred upon any individual who has shown noteworthy achievement as an original investigator in a field of pure or applied science or engineering.
- Associate Membership is available to any individual who has, through initial research achievement in a field of pure or applied science, shown an aptitude for research.
At the time you join the national organization, you may affiliate with our chapter.
If you are interested in joining our group but do not have a sponsor, please contact any of the Chapter Officers for assistance.
Please print and fill out this nomination form and return it to the Chapter Secretary with a check for the appropriate dues. The chapter may be able to help defray membership dues for new student members - please contact a chapter officer for more information. We welcome new members throughout the year and invite them to participate in an induction ceremony each spring.
