Danielle Slattery
Assistant Professor
Danielle K. Slattery, LMSW, is a clinical therapist and has her own private practice in her hometown of Marquette, MI. She earned her BSW from Northern Michigan University in 2010 and her MSW from the University of New England in 2017.
Danielle brings nearly 17 years of experience in Social Work. Her professional experience started in Child Welfare and shifted to Community Mental Health, where she worked with children and families; in addition to providing crisis services. Danielle also has experience working with individuals facing homelessness and thought disorders. She has volunteered with the local Women's Center, Room at the Inn and Start the Cycle.
Danielle specializes in trauma treatment and is committed to providing trauma-informed care. She is also a certified Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) therapist. She is excited to bring her experiences into the classroom and share in the learning experiences. Danielle hopes to influence students to approach the world with compassion, curiosity, and a strong commitment to themselves and others.
Outside of work, Danielle enjoys spending time with her family and animals. They enjoy time outside, traveling, camping, biking, and movies nights. Danielle personally loves everything music, reading, and spending time in and near Lake Superior.
