ASSIST is a grant-funded TRIO Student Support Services program at Northern Michigan University that aims to increase retention and graduation rates for eligible students. In order to participate in ASSIST, students must be a United States Citizen, enrolled at NMU, in Good Academic Standing, and be either First-Generation (neither parent/guardian has earned a bachelor's degree), and/or be considered Low-Income according to federal guidelines (once your application is submitted, we will request a signed verification form via email) and/or have a documented Disability (on file with NMU Disability Services).
