| Description |
Effective December 29, 2009, and implemented under the Environmental Protection Agencys (EPA) powers under the Clean Air Act, the rule requires that the University submit an annual report on the Universitys greenhouse gas emissions. Gases covered by the rule include carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), hydro fluorocarbons (HFC), per fluorocarbons (PFC), sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) and other fluorinated gases and hydro fluorinated ethers. Due annually on March 31. Reporting duties differ based on amount of emmissions. The attestation is just acknowledging that we remain below the 25,000 metric ton threshold for emissions. *NMU is below the 25,000 metric ton threshold and is not required to report GHG emissions to the EPA. |
