The Virtual Biology Career Fair is an opportunity for companies and organizations to discuss Biology jobs, internships and careers with students. This also includes sustainable energy, government environmental/health, healthcare technicians, managing scientific data, natural resources, ecotourism, etc. There is no cost for employers, students and alumni to attend this event.

This year marks the 58th Annual Fall Semester Job Fair! This is an opportunity for employers to share information about a wide range of career possibilities with NMU students and alumni. Employers are also welcome to recruit for full-time jobs, part-time jobs, internships, and summer employment. There is no cost for students or alumni to attend this fair.  Remember to dress for success and have your resume ready!

Win a prize! Students/Alumni who register and check in to the fair will be placed into a drawing for one of ten $25 gift cards. The winners will be notified the day after the fair. 

There will be an opportunity to get a professional headshot taken at the fair!

BIPOC Outdoors Summit

Monday, August 4 - Tuesday, August 5, 2025

This summit aims to bring together BIPOC and allies from Michigan, the Midwest and beyond to collectively share best practices in facilitating BIPOC-centered spaces in outdoor recreation, environmental justice and conservation movements. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from keynote speakers, panelists and each other about best practices in grassroots movements that are helping to strengthen the relationship of BIPOC communities and Nature.

As NMU’s 125th anniversary celebration comes to a close, we have one final challenge—surpassing the 560 donors who helped us kick it off last year. Can we do it, Wildcats? Let’s show just how Wild we are for NMU!

This year’s theme, Give to What You Love, celebrates your personal connections and deep pride that make NMU a place like no other. This is your chance to make a direct impact on the causes you’re passionate about, whether it's student experiences, research, athletics, or one of the many departments that shape the Wildcat experience. Every gift, no matter the size, helps create a stronger, more vibrant university.

Together on April 17, it’s our chance to uplift our Wildcat community and show that at NMU, north never wavers.

Northern Michigan University will hold its winter semester University Forum from noon - 1 p.m. Monday, April 14, in the ballrooms of the Northern Center.  A pizza buffet and beverages will be available, or attendees are welcome to bring their own brown bag lunch. President Brock Tessman will lead the discussion. 

The primary featured topic will be changes being made related to the recent White House executive order on diversity/equity/inclusion (DEI).

Other topics include: 
Budget and state funding update
Enrollment 2025-26 outlook
Block scheduling and other big ideas

All NMU students, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend. The event is also open to the public.  

A video link of the forum will be sent campus-wide on Tuesday, April 15, for those who cannot attend the event in person.

Thursday, February 20, 2025 | 3PM | University Center | Student Scholarship Summit is a new opportunity for students to showcase their research, scholarly activity, and creative inquiry. This is a networking and poster session. A limited number of student entries will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis for this inaugural event. Awards will be issued for First ($750), Second ($450), Third places ($150), and one (1) People's Choice ($750). All are encouraged to attend.
